The far side of the Moon, also called the dark side of the Moon, is the hemisphere of the Moon that faces away from Earth; the opposite hemisphere being the near side.

On the far side of the Moon, the Moon phases are exactly opposite to the ones we see from Earth. When we see the Moon fully illuminated at Full Moon, the far side is in darkness.
