Heparan sulfate - Wikipedia
Heparan sulfate (HS) is a linear polysaccharide found in all animal tissues. [1] It occurs in a proteoglycan (HSPG, i.e. Heparan Sulfate ProteoGlycan) in which two or three HS chains are attached in close proximity to cell surface or extracellular matrix proteins.
Heparan Sulfate: Biosynthesis, Structure, and Function
Heparan sulfate (HS) proteoglycans (PGs) are ubiquitously expressed on cell surfaces and in the extracellular matrix of most animal tissues, having essential functions in development and homeostasis, as well as playing various roles in disease processes.
