The Great Lakes Now monthly television program is produced by Detroit PBS in partnership with a network of PBS affiliates around the region. The 2000s saw stricter ballast legislation in Canada and the United States. Dec 16, 2024 · A valve failure on an Enbridge Energy oil pipeline in Wisconsin caused a spill that dumped some 69,000 gallons of oil into the ground. The spill happened on the morning of Nov. 11 about 4 miles east of the village of Cambridge, between Milwaukee and Madison, according to an accident report released this week by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

But by the 1900s, they had migrated through the Welland Canal into Lake Erie and the other Great Lakes. This long, eel-like parasitic fish has a circular mouth with more than a hundred sharp, bony teeth.
