Water Baptism symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ in his death and resurrection and his resolve to be faithful to Christ. In the Gospel of Grace, salvation is by faith alone, and the believer is identified with Christ through the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The moment you trust Christ’s finished work, the Holy Spirit baptizes you into the Body of Christ—this is your identification with Him, apart from any ritual. Water baptism is not a requirement for salvation under the Gospel
