The Copts, one of the largest Christian minorities in the Middle East and North Africa, have a long history in Jerusalem. With persecution of Coptic Christians on the rise - hundreds of Egyptian Copts have been killed in sectarian clashes from 2011 to 2017 – the small Coptic community lives in safety in Israel.
