One of my all-time favorite poems is “The Journey” by Mary Oliver. A few years ago, my good friend Charlotte gave me a framed copy, and I look at it all the time. I ultimately used the lines you see here as the epigraph at the beginning of my new book, The Next Day. My hope is that other readers will find the same comfort I did in the idea of an inner voice that can guide us and steady us in times of change.
