“Box” by Bot & Dolly, was the first short film of its kind to combine projection mapping of 3D computer graphics, robotics and an actor into a synchronised performance. Created in 2013, the production explored “the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping on moving surfaces”. Bot & Dolly were able to achieve this through the immeasurably creative use of one actor, two high-res projectors and three industrial robots (one for the camera) that were synchronised and controlled
