Archery may appear controlled and precise, but accidents can happen with serious consequences. Both medieval and modern examples show how small errors can lead to severe injuries. Bow shoulder injuries and an unstable bow arm often occur when the bow shoulder is unstable from 1 or more angles, like a castle that has a weak side. A weak side is a point of vulnerability, either for performance or injury. Our training programs target 360° of stability in the bow arm to fix these weak points. When targeting these needs, it’s important that the exercises: 1. Build/advance on themselves 2. Utilize different forms of loading 3. Implement concentric, eccentric, and isometric musc

I often see archers encounter injuries when they lean too heavily to one side. Either… Too much mobility and not enough stability, leading to unwanted stress and movement in the shoulder - most common in younger individuals and females. Too much stability and not enough mobility, leading to a rigid shoulder that has to compensate in order to move efficiently - most common in older individuals and males. Archery Strong’s training focuses on restoring a balanced combination of mobility and stabili

After a few years of injuries and recovery, I'm on the journey to drawing heavier bows again A year ago, I could barely draw a 30 lb bow and it's been a steady climb back up the bow mountain The goal is to draw this little monster to full draw. It will take work and time but we will get here. Bows at these draw weights aren't practical IMO. This is merely just a personal challenge I've undertaken. I'm still a fan of 50 lb and under for solid performance odinsonarchery.com #odinsonarchery #archer

I think that 'training' the legs is not so simple. The legs are mostly covered, far from our vision and much less coordinated and neurologically charged than our upper body. They also carry a great responsibility for our life as they allow us to biggest freedom of mobility: walking. Look, social media is full of big statements with greater promises which are based mostly on the desire to sell. I don't think that there is a method that will fully anyone from leg injuries. I also don't think that

** ARCHERY FORM CHECK - THE BOW ARM ** Common issue I see when people are lining up for their shot is poor alignment in the bow arm This can be from a variety of things such as general fatigue or past injuries Correct structural alignment alone will make MASSIVE differences in your accuracy over most anything else Make mental checklists before, during and after your shots to see where the gaps are in your form odinsonarchery.com #odinsonarchery #archery #archeryhunting #archeryaddict | Odinson A

Track how many arrows shoot to help keep your volume in a place that feels and works best for YOUR body. Every archer is tolerates arrow volume differently. It’s easy to lose track of how many arrows we’re shooting and how often we’re shooting. For some archers, this can lead to acute overuse injuries (sudden event) or chronic overuse injuries (gradual irritation over time). Find a method of recording that works for you: on your phone, handheld tracker, journal, etc. | Archery Strong

These recommendations are for people who shoot multiple times per week, year round. These recommendations are focused on keeping the archer’s joints, connective tissue, and musculature healthy in the long run. These recommendations also assume the individual is healthy. If you’re dealing with injuries or have an increased likelihood of injury, these recommendations would need adjusted. | Archery Strong
