Virtual tour day 6: Duncan Grant Murals by Joy Heath The murals are found in the Russel Chantry at the East End of the Cathedral. Painted by, Duncan Grant (1885-1978), part of the Bloomsbury set, the murals feature bright oils applied with bold brush strokes. The two largest murals show Christ as the Good Shepherd, surrounded by a mandorla, sheep and shepherds, and a busy harbour scene with porters and three women. Virtual tour day 7: The Wren Library by Terry Johnston This elegant Library, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, was built between 1674-1676 to hold printed books owned by Dean Michael Honywood who bought books on many subjects including a first edition of Milton’s “Paradise Lost” dated 1667 and works by William Byrd. The oldest is a 1468 copy of “The Epistles of St. Jerome”. Honywood bequeathed his collection to the Cathedral which has always been a place of education. | Lincoln Cathedral
