In woodcarving I find so much more pleasure in the doing than I do in the finishing (as with so many other things I guess!! 😅). For the most part this is just because I love the process; the slow, mindful shaving away at the wood, the problem solving and that feeling when you get into the zone, when you feel entirely in harmony with the wood that you’re working with. But there is also the issue of being your own harshest critic where all you see are the flaws rather than the virtues of your fin
