A few years ago, computer scientists Steven Skiena and Charles Ward built an algorithm for analyzing Wikipedia. They wanted to see which historical figures had had the greatest impact over time. They used the algorithm to analyze Wikipedia and rank more than 1,000 people in terms of their significance.
